Inside Sales Representative
Location: Kelowna, BC
Position Status: OPEN
Salary: $65,000 per year
Our Kelowna client is looking to add a new Technical Sales Representative to their team. As a Technical Sales Representative, you will provide expert guidance on our clients, focusing on the sales of nonstandard and custom products. You will collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the products meet the specific requirements of each project. Additionally, you will drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and cultivating strong, lasting relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
Estimate the quantities and costs of materials for projects by examining supplied schedules, drawings, and specifications.
Provide verbal and written quotations for standard, modified and custom precast products based on information provided by the customer.
Provide standard product knowledge and basic technical information that customers require; inquire into customers’ project needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions to enhance their experience.
Clearly communicate solutions to customers through the use of CAD drawings, pictures, or sketches to support the solution.
Generate and release Work Orders to production and manage the project until completion.
Liaise between departments, as required and between the customer and internal operations, on the progress of orders versus target dates.
Dispatch company delivery trucks or arrange third party freight services as necessary for the shipping of company products and materials.
Process customer sales orders and invoices for all products
Proactively track tender results by contacting purchasing departments, consultants, and contractors to follow up on opportunities to maximize overall sales performance.
Attend after hours events to build customer relationships.
Other reasonable duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Requirements:
Preferably a Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Relevant Technical Diploma/Degree and/or equivalent education/work experiences
Experience in the precast and construction industry and knowledge of precast manufacturing techniques would be an asset (concrete, rebar, steel)
Experience in estimating and/or hands-on building experience would be beneficial
2 to 3+ years previous experience as a Sales/Customer Service Representative preferred
Above average computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, & Outlook
