Accountant
Location: Lake Country, BC
Position Status: CLOSED
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
Our Lake Country, BC Client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. This is a dynamic role that supports various aspects of operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and vendor management.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process and code incoming vendor and subcontractor invoices 
- Match invoices with purchase orders and obtain appropriate approvals 
- Prepare and schedule payments (cheques, EFTs, online banking) 
- Issue client invoices and progress billings 
- Track receivables and follow up on overdue accounts 
- Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts 
Payroll & Government Remittances
- Process bi-weekly payroll 
- Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with labour standards 
- Calculate and remit source deductions to CRA, WSIB/WCB, and other provincial agencies 
- Administer ROEs, T4s, and complete year-end payroll reporting 
Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Set up and maintain vendor and subcontractor profiles 
- Track and ensure receipt of contracts, WCB/WSIB clearance letters, and insurance certificates 
- Monitor payment terms and communicate to resolve discrepancies 
General Ledger & Financial Management
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations 
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger 
- Assist with monthly and year-end closings 
- Prepare financial statements and reports 
- Support project managers with job costing, variance analysis, and financial insights 
Planning & Forecasting
- Assist with budget development and cash flow forecasting 
- Identify financial trends and opportunities for cost control 
- Provide insights to support strategic business decisions 
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field considered an asset 
- 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience 
- Proficient with accounting QuickBooks software and Microsoft Excel 
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities 
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting is an asset
