Human Resources Manager


Location: Vernon, BC

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

KAN Recruitment is recruiting a Human Resources Manager for our client in Vernon, BC. This role is suited to an experienced HR leader who enjoys working across the full employee lifecycle, advising managers, and helping a growing organization build practical, people-focused HR programs in Canada and the United States.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will lead talent management across the organization and work closely with the Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, and Finance teams. You will balance day-to-day employee support with longer-term planning, while helping create a positive and compliant workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to develop HR policies, programs, and workforce plans that support business goals.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, and employee departures.

  • Advise managers and employees on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, performance issues, and disciplinary matters.

  • Help ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment, human rights, and health and safety requirements in Canada and the United States.

  • Support initiatives that strengthen inclusion, employee engagement, and retention.

  • Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits and Payroll teams on pay practices, benefits, leaves, HR reporting, and related processes.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and reliable data within HR systems.

  • Use HR metrics and employee feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • A degree or certificate in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least five years of progressive HR experience, including experience in an HR management or leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

  • Experience using HR data and metrics to guide decisions.

  • Sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to make practical decisions when information is incomplete.

  • Strong communication, listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • The ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.

  • Availability to travel within Canada and the United States.

  • A CPHR designation is an asset.
