Store Manager
Location: Kelowna, BC
Position Status: OPEN
Salary: $57,000 - $62,000 per year
KAN Recruitment's Kelowna client, located in the Orchard Park Mall is looking for a Store Manager. This position is responsible for providing leadership and effective management to the team while ensuring smooth daily operations, profitability, and achievement of all sales goals and business targets.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Profitability
Drive sales to achieve profit goals by meeting projected targets and sales per hour plans.
Monitor and control expenses to maximize store performance.
Customer Experience & Service
Deliver exceptional customer service by leading through example and fostering a customer-focused culture.
Train, coach, and schedule team members to consistently provide outstanding service.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, interview, and hire high-quality team members.
Onboard, train, motivate, and develop employees to build strong, promotable internal talent.
Conduct coaching conversations, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
Participate in team meetings and create opportunities for staff development.
Operations & Inventory
Maintain accurate inventory levels of products and supplies to meet sales and operational needs.
Ensure adherence to company guidelines on product handling, rotation, and storage.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale transactions, and other operational standards.
Sales Initiatives & Promotions
Promote and manage special services, seasonal offerings, and additional sales programs.
Implement and support marketing initiatives and company directives in a timely manner.
Collaboration & Communication
Maintain positive communication with corporate support teams, peers, and external partners.
Actively participate in management workshops, meetings, and conventions; share updates with the store team.
Foster positive relationships with other store locations and mall/center administration.
Visual Merchandising & Store Standards
Ensure products and signage are presented in alignment with company merchandising standards.
Maintain a clean, organized backroom and sales floor.
Comply with all Health & Safety standards and Loss Prevention procedures.
Leadership & Culture
Provide a positive, motivating work environment by demonstrating an effective management style.
Lead by example in all areas of responsibility, promoting teamwork and accountability.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of progressive retail management experience (multi-unit or specialty retail an asset).
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving profitability.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a “customer-first” mindset.
Solid organizational and time management abilities; able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and loss prevention.
Proficient with POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to interpret sales data and make informed business decisions.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
Post-secondary education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is an asset.
