Salary: Base of $50,000 - $60,000 + Commission and company Vehicle.

Our client, a well-established powersports dealership with a strong presence in Western Canada, is seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead their team in their Cranbrook location. This individual will oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, drive business performance, and ensure the dealership consistently delivers exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership capability, a passion for the powersports industry, and the ability to manage both operational details and long-term strategy.

The successful candidate will excel at communicating across all levels of the organization—offering clear guidance to internal teams while also presenting insights and complex issues to senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Operational & Strategic Leadership

  • Monitor market trends to ensure the dealership remains competitive, meets evolving customer needs, and effectively promotes new products.

  • Lead the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices to drive efficiency across all departments.

  • Provide leadership in creating, maintaining, and executing strategic plans that support the dealership’s short- and long-term success.

Customer & Vendor Management

  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns related to powersports vehicles or service work, ensuring timely and professional resolutions.

  • Review and address customer complaints, taking ownership of dispute resolution to maintain high service standards.

  • Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing on powersports vehicles, parts, accessories, and services.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Assist with recruitment efforts and support the onboarding of new employees.

  • Provide training and coaching to ensure team members understand organizational expectations, policies, and service standards.

  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture that prioritizes customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Financial Oversight

  • Review and interpret financial reports, sales metrics, and inventory turnover to assess dealership performance.

  • Contribute to budgeting processes and oversee financial operations to ensure the dealership is achieving key business targets.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related leadership role within the powersports, recreation, or similar retail automotive environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to resolve issues, influence stakeholders, and build strong working relationships.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.

  • Experience managing financial components of a business, including budgets and performance reporting.
