IT Support Specialist


Location: Vancouver, Victoria or Okanagan area

Position Status: OPEN

Salary: $50,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience

Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join their team and deliver exceptional technical expertise to a diverse client base. This position plays a critical role in resolving complex business and technology challenges, while also supporting day-to-day IT operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced technical proficiency, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide both remote and onsite technical support to small and medium-sized business clients

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot:

  • Desktop and server environments (Windows, MacOS)

  • Mobile devices (iOS, Android)

  • Network equipment including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and VOIP systems

  • Support and manage IT projects, including the development of project charters, timelines, and deliverables

  • Accurately document activities and resolutions in the ticketing system

  • Coordinate effectively with clients and internal teams to schedule and complete service requests

  • Monitor, review, and prioritize outstanding requests, projects, and incidents

  • Liaise with third-party hardware and software vendors to resolve escalated issues

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Information Technology or a comparable combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional IT support experience, preferably within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, TCP/IP, Windows RDS/Terminal Services, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, mobile technologies, and virtualization platforms

  • Advanced expertise in common operating systems

  • Proven experience in the design, configuration, and deployment of Active Directory, Domains, and Group Policies (both on-premise and Azure AD)

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a methodical approach to problem-solving

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and team collaboration skills

  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal) with a client-focused approach

  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities

  • Professional, dependable, and solutions-oriented work ethic

Bonus Assets:

  • Experience with Linux environments and scripting (e.g., PowerShell)

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as PHP, .NET, Perl, or Python

  • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  • Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Citrix)

  • Experience designing and implementing IT solutions tailored to small and medium-sized organizations
