IT Support Specialist - British Columbia

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year

Our client is looking for an experienced and client-focused IT Support Specialist to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with businesses, and delivering high-quality IT solutions in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build positive relationships with clients while supporting a wide range of IT infrastructure and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver remote and onsite technical support to small and medium-sized business clients

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot:

  • Windows and Mac desktop/server environments

  • Mobile devices including iOS and Android

  • Network infrastructure such as routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and VOIP systems

  • Assist with IT projects from planning through implementation, including timelines, documentation, and deployment

  • Manage and update support tickets with detailed notes and resolutions

  • Coordinate service requests and project schedules with clients and internal teams

  • Monitor and prioritize support requests, incidents, and ongoing projects

  • Work alongside third-party vendors to resolve escalated technical issues

  • Recommend and implement effective technology solutions for clients

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally within an MSP environment

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Computer hardware and software

  • Networking and TCP/IP

  • Microsoft Exchange and Office 365

  • Windows RDS/Terminal Services

  • Virtualization technologies

  • Mobile device support

  • Experience configuring and managing:

  • Active Directory

  • Domains and Group Policies

  • Azure AD / Microsoft Entra environments

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a solutions-driven approach

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • Organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively

  • Team-oriented with a professional attitude and strong attention to detail

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Linux systems and scripting tools such as PowerShell

  • Exposure to programming languages including Python, PHP, .NET, or Perl

  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy principles

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, or Citrix

  • Experience designing and implementing IT solutions for SMB environments
